I think it is a great thing that my friend is learning cooking, and I do have some advice for him. Firstly, I think he must be careful not to hurt himself in the kitchen. I mean, as a beginner, he could get burned by the hot oil or cut himself with a knife if he is not paying attention. Besides, I also believe that if he chooses to follow a receipt, things would be easier for him. He doesn’t know many cooking skills yet, so why not choose to learn from others’ great experiences, at least in the early stage? In this way, he may be able to make progress soon and have some fun in the same time.

I think we should definitely let our friends and family know our exact location when we are travelling. Firstly, it may keep us safe. After all, we are travelling in unfamiliar places, and our chances of meeting emergencies are largely increased. Thus, knowing that someone’s got our back is very reassuring, sometimes life-saving even. Besides, it can also save our beloved ones the trouble of worrying about us the whole time. It is a symbol of taking responsibility. Also, while letting them know our location, we can share the interesting things in the journey with them, which can promote our relationship.

理由1：在外面有新鲜的空气，会有更大的收获，这种在图书馆里面的运动，也并不能对身体有什么好处。

理由2：对于使用这些桌子的人可能有帮助，但对于其它学生来讲，肯定会打扰他们，这些机器的噪音，对于复习考试和学习的学生来讲都会有影响。

解题思路 本题难度不大，是比较常见的校园生活话题，并且几个重要信息点都比较清晰。相信考生们只要读懂题目，听懂听力材料，组织语言应该不会太困难。

参考范文

The student is writing a letter to the university, suggesting that they should set up some treadmill desks in the library. Yet, the boy thinks it is a horrible idea. The first reason of the letter is that students can talk a walk while studying, which is beneficial to their physical health. However, the boy argues that the indoor activity wouldn’t do much good to students’ health. Instead, they should do outdoor sports so they can enjoy the fresh air. The second reason of the letter is that by using such desks, students can do two things in the same time, but the boy thinks it doesn’t make any sense. According to him, it is true that students can get some exercise by using the desks, but let’s not ignore the noise the desks make when people are moving and walking. Since they are in a library, students are all trying to concentrate on their school work. So it seems inappropriate to add all the noise.

阅读部分 术语：Rewarding Power

解释：一种领导的能力，使得他的员工可以更有效率的工作。领导通过一定激励手段提高员工的 工作效率，提高效率的幅度与领导掌握的习惯有关，也和员工的感兴趣程度相关。

听力部分 例子：他的一个朋友Chris，在一个公司做管理者，要管理一个小团队。在刚进公司的时间，Chris本想通过每周开party激励员工，但是上面有很多领导，加上不允许使用公司的资金。于是，Chris选择将每周销售业绩最高的员工的照片贴出来，并且写表扬信。员工们对于这个做法都有比较好的响应，销售额也提升了。

Rewarding Power refers to a leadership ability that can promote the working efficiency of the employees. In the lecture, the professor provides an example to prove this concept. The professor’s friend, Chris, is a team leader in a company and he manages a small group of people. When he first got into the company, he wanted to find a way to motivate his team. At the beginning, he figured that it was a good idea to hold a party every week as a reward to his employees. However, this idea was not practical, since it would cost a huge amount of money. So his final choice was that he would post the picture of the best sellers on the wall, and write the best seller a letter to say thank you. As it turned out, the plan worked perfectly. All the workers welcomed it and were totally driven by it.

考题回忆 问题：男生收到一个编辑发来的邮件，因为他们要出版他写的一个故事。这个编辑建议他修改一下故事的结尾，但是这个男生不想修改。

解决方法

1：再回信这个编辑，看能不能不改结尾

缺点：怕编辑觉得在跟他争论，以后都不再发表他的作品了

2：接受编辑的建议，重写结尾

好处：就可以发表故事了。

缺点：故事就不一样了

解题思路

1. 本题听力部分难度适中。两条解决措施比较清晰，也比较容易概括。

2. 本题自己的建议部分可能会稍微有点难说。但是两条解决措施都可以选择。

The man is having a problem. An editor is going to publish his article, as long as he changes the ending of it, but he doesn’t wanna do that. There are two solutions. Firstly, he can email his editor to see if he can keep the original ending, but he worries that the editor would refuse to publish his work. The second solution is that he can take the advice and revise the story, but it wouldn’t be the same one. If I were him, I would definitely choose the first solution. The reasons are quite obvious. To start with, as a writer, my work is my identity and it speaks for me. Thus, I will be the one to defend my own writing. I do believe with proper communication, I can persuade the editor to view the ending of my work differently. Besides, if the editor decides that he doesn’t want my work, I can always publish it online or on another media. People can still read it.

考题回忆 话题：两种方法使得鱼可以得到持续发展，不至于消失。

要点1：只捕捉大鱼

例子1：一种叫 flounder 的鱼，只能捕捉长到至少有一只脚那么长的这种鱼，这样就可以给他们足够的时间长大，人们才能够有足够的鱼吃。

要点2：不在这些鱼繁殖的地方捕鱼

例子2：鱼在中美洲一个地方繁殖，这个地方的政府就颁布了一条法律，在这个地区捕鱼是违法的。

In the lecture, the professor talks about two ways to make sure that fish won’t die out because of overfishing.

Firstly, people can only catch big mature fish. For example, there is a kind of fish called flounder, and people can only catch them when the fish are at least as long as people’s feet. In this way, the baby flounder will have a chance to survive, and people will have enough food resources because there will always be enough flounders for them to catch.

Secondly, it is forbidden to fish in certain areas, especially where fish reproduce. For example, fish always lay their babies in a place in Central American. Thus, the local government enacts a law that it is illegal to fish there. In this way, the pregnant fish and the baby fish will have a shelter to live and hide, which in turn makes sure that their population won’t go down drastically.

学生的 story 在文学杂志上可以在发表，编辑想让他改一下结尾，他觉得改了会改变自己想表达的故事整体的含义，不改就不能发表了

Task6

过度捕捞导致鱼即将消失;一个原因是鱼太小的时候被捕，一个是在鱼的产卵地捕捞；解决方法就是法案控制。
