There are a lot of compliments I’ve ever received since I was young. Some people give some positive words about my appearance, such as cutie. Some people speak highly of my study, thinking that I am a diligent and clever girl. Such kind of comments I’ve heard a lot and my reaction to these compliments is calm. However, there is one compliment I was touched at that time and I will always remember this compliment.

It happened just after the score of my college entrance examination came out. With luckiness and hard work to prepare, my grades were pretty good, 20 points higher than expected. Suddenly, all relatives knew the news and gave calls to congratulate me. In the beginning, I felt proud of myself hearing these congratulations and compliments. However, with the same kind of compliments waving in, I felt tired and a little bored because all of them just focused on my grades and no one really cared about what I felt like.

I thought that I might not hear anything from anybody that just focused on myself, but my grandma surprised me. It was an ordinary visit to my grandma after the college entrance examination. I caught a cold then. At the first sight of me, my grandma stared at me and sighed, “You have finished your high school. No matter how much scores you finally get, at the end of these three years, a celebration is needed for your consistent hard work. Now, have a good rest.”

After I heard this, my tears almost came out. Maybe others don’t know about your difficulty when you are struggling for something, but there are always some people who pay attention to your happiness and feelings. Those people are the ones I cherish most. They also become the motivation for my future life.
