What work do you do?

Well, I work as an English teacher in a primary school near my home in Shanghai. My major back at college is English and that’s why I ended up doing this job.

Do you like your work?

Yes, I like my current job as an English teacher very much. I quite enjoy the feeling of being surrounded by students, all eager to learn more about the world outside through English. This cultivated in me a sense of responsibility and also brought me a great sense of achievement.

What are your responsibilities at work?

Well basically, my responsibilities at work are teaching students English and helping them with whatever problems they might encounter in their English studying. I have been at this job for over three years now and still feel that I need more improvements on better fulfilling my responsibilities.

Will you continue doing this work in the future?

Well I’d day yes. First of all, I love my job as an English teacher, and I quite enjoy spending most of my time with my beloved students. Besides, working as an English in Shanghai, one of the most developed cities in China, also means good salary more than enough to support my own living. So I’d probably continue doing this job in the future.

Study

What subject are you studying?

Well, as a college student, my major is business management. Basically what we learn at school is how to run a company successfully, getting familiar with the rules on controlling, leading, monitoring, organizing, and planning.

Why did you choose this subject as your major?

Well, my father and mother are both CEOs of a great company, so I’ve been quite interested in how to run a company ever since I was little. Also, I plan to set up my own business with several good friends after graduating from college. Studying business management in college would then be a great help for my future career.

Do you prefer studying in the morning or in the afternoon?

I’d say that I prefer to study in the morning, since it’s the best time of the day when every single cell in my bod is fully recharged. Thus, it’s going to be way more effective for me to study in the morning than in the afternoon when I am always sleepy.

Are you looking forward to working?

Well yes. I just can’t wait to put what I’ve learned at college into practice and see what I can achieve.
